Elizabeth Cashel is founder of Cashel Educational Consulting, a full service independent educational consulting firm that helps students and families from the United States and around the world  navigate the independent school and college admission processes.    With over twenty years of experience working with and in schools throughout the United States and Europe, Elizabeth understands first-hand the needs of students who live both domestically and abroad. It is her mission to help students discover, apply, and transition to schools and universities at which they will thrive and be successful.

Having held various roles at schools ranging from traditional and elite day and boarding schools stateside to competitive International Baccalaureate programs abroad, Elizabeth has developed a depth of knowledge that is an asset to her families as they navigate the independent school process. As the former head of upper school admissions at a New York City independent school, Elizabeth also gained invaluable experience in the inner workings of the competitive world of NYC school admissions.  Over the years, her students have been accepted and have attended a diverse list of schools, meeting the individual needs of each student and family. 

When it comes to the university admission process, Elizabeth expertly guides each student to discover a "best fit" college.  Her extensive knowledge of colleges and universities and passionate commitment to the success of her students is a powerful combination.  Elizabeth transcends the general application process and identifies what is unique to each student and caters her services to the individual.  Over the years, she has worked with students from the U.S. and abroad seeking opportunities at Ivy League universities, international universities, liberal art colleges and specialized schools.  Her students are future  student athletes, artists, engineers, architects, writers, diplomats, film makers, bankers, social scientists, mathematicians, physicists, professors, while  some have yet to decide.

For international families, expats, and families seeking educational opportunities abroad, Elizabeth offers a comprehensive global perspective .  Having lived and worked overseas for many years, Elizabeth has a deep and broad knowledge of both international and US education. She also recognizes the needs and stresses of a relocating family.  Elizabeth understands how educational systems and curricula from other countries match up with U.S. schools and counsels families on secondary schools and universities in both the United States and abroad.  Her suggestions on schools, universities, and summer programs reflect this unique expertise.
